Colin 5 months

Happy 5 months Colin!!
I cannot believe my baby boy is 5 months old today.
I still can't believe how fast he is growing up.
He shows more and more personality every day and we are soaking up every minutes of it.
He is a very happy baby, unless he is hungry or sleepy.
He started eating stage 1 baby food this month, fruit in the morning and a vegetable at night.
So far his favorites are pears, apples, peas, and bananas.
He wasn't so sure about the orange veggies at first, but he is starting to warm up to the sweet potatoes and carrots.
He take a 5 oz. bottle every 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
He is learning more and more every day.
He has recently discovered his feet.
He tracks objects very easily and loves playing with his toys, especially the ones he can get into his mouth.
This month, he has really starting to enjoy his baby einstein activity center and played in his johnny jumper for the first time.
He has starting reaching for our faces when we are talking to him.
He isn't quite rolling over independently from back to belly, but with a little help he is able to get over.
He is definitely starting to act more like a big boy.
He doesn't like to miss out on anything.
He likes to be sitting up or standing on your lap.
Sometimes, even at night when I am rocking him to sleep, he likes to be more upright so he can see what's going on.
He loves watching Baby Einstein and likes listening to music.
He always seems to be smiling, but is pretty stingy with his laughs.
I am pretty sure he is in the beginning stages of teething.
Everything goes in his mouth and the drooling is non-stop.
He still loves his paci, but enjoyes his fingers too.
He is wearing mostly 6 month clothing, but still some 3-6 months.
He is wearing size 2 diapers.
We took Colin to see Santa and he did really well.
He is good with being out and about.
He has really starting to pay attention to who has him...he knows when someone new is holding him and he definitely shows a preference for familiar faces.
He still loves his sleep, but recently we have started swaddling him at night.
He just can't keep those little arms under control sometimes.
His hair is starting to get thicker.
He had a thick, full head of hair when he was born, but then it really thinned out.
It is really starting to come back now.
His eyelashes have gotten really dark too and are so long!
He has already gotten several compliments on his pretty lashes.
Even though he has his mommy's eyes, he still looks very much like his daddy.
Happy 5 months baby Colin.
Mommy and daddy love you so much and we look forward to watching you grow,
but would appreciate if time would slow down just a little.

4 Months

My baby boy is 4 months old today!  Time sure does fly when are having fun.  We have so much watching him grow and learn new things.  He is such a happy baby, and this mama is very thankful for that.  I weighed him about 2 weeks ago, and he weighed 15 lbs 2 ounces.  He is 25  inches long.  He has his 4 month check up on Wednesday, so I will get a more accurate height and weight then.  He will also be getting some more shots which I do not look forward to.

He eats 4 ounces every 3 hours due to a growth spurt I am pretty sure he is having at the moment.  He woke in the middle of the night one day last week and wanted to eat.  He has not done this since he was around 2 and a half, so I decided that it might be time to try a little bit of rice cereal.  He is ok with it.  I think once he gets use to the spoon he will love it.
We finally broke out his high chair last week, and he loves it.  We will sit him in it while we are eating dinner, and his daddy fed him his rice cereal in it the Friday night.  Colin is also very fond of his hands.  He chews on them ALL the time.  I am pretty sure he is starting to teeth a little bit.  He got a little fussy last week and was chewing his fingers.  We put some ora-gel on his gums and immediately got happy and stopped chewing his fingers.
He has got really good head and neck control.  He sits in his bumbo and will lay on his playmat on his belly with is head lifted for several minutes.  He is also trying to raise his head up when he is laying back in your arms or laying flat.  He loves watching football with us on Saturdays, especially those Bama boys, and Baby Einstein.  He is starting to sit up for a few seconds, but I am sure he will be sitting up perfectly in no time.

He is still sleeping in his pack n play in our room.  I am just not ready for him to be in a room by himself.  My goal is to work on this during Christmas break.  He still loves bath time and will kick like crazy in his little tub.  I can only imagine how much fun we will have next summer in the pool.

I have so much love for this precious boy!  He has definitely brought so much joy to our lives, and we look forward to watching him grow!  Happy 4 months Colin.....Mommy and Daddy love you so much!!

3 Months

My baby boy is 3 months old today.  He is getting so big so fast, and it is so bittersweet for this mama!  I love watching him grow and do new things, but I hate that it is happening SOOO fast.  He now weighs 13 lbs 3 oz.  He eats 5 ounces of formula every 4 hours.  He has FINALLY gotten over his first cold which was not fun.  He didn't seemed bothered by it though.
He sleeps in his pack-n-play beside our bed.  He goes down between 9:30 and 10, and he wakes up between 6 and 7.  He LOVES his sleep!  He takes several short naps a day (less than an hour), and 2 long naps.  All this growing is hard work!

He is wearing size 1 diapers ( I am pretty sure he will be in 2's soon), and he is wearing 3 month clothes.  There are a handful of 3-6 month clothes that fit him too.  His hair is starting to thin out a little bit, but it is still there.  His eyes are looking pretty dark.  Sometimes they look green and sometimes they look brown!  It is still too early to tell for sure.

He smiles all the time!  He is a very happy baby and loves being cuddled and loved on.  Good thing because this momma is a cuddler:)  He absolutely loves his bath.  We had to move his baby tub to the bathtub because he was soaking everything in the kitchen with his splashing.
Even though he still looks like a mini daddy, he is starting to look a little bit like me too.  He has momma's eyes and daddy's lips!  He is absolutely perfect.  Happy 3 Months Colin...Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

2 Months

My baby boy is 2 months old today!  I can not believe how fast he is growing.  We went yesterday for his 2 month check up.  He weighs 12 lbs 3 oz, and he is 24 inches long.  Unfortunately, we went to the doctor a day early because Colin has his first cold.  No fever, but a snuffy nose, sneezing, and a small cough.  Since he was not running a fever, the doctor went ahead and gave him his 2 month shots.  It was pitiful.  He cried and mommy cried.  Daddy gets to go for his 4 month shots because I don't know if I can bare it again.  Other than his little cold, the doctor said that Colin was perfect.

I have stopped breastfeeding, and he seems to tolerate formula pretty well.  He is eating 5 oz every 3 1/2 or 4 hours.  He is also starting to go for longer stretches in between feedings at night (6 or 7 hours).  This makes for a happy mommy:) He is starting to smile at us which I can't get enough of.  It is really the sweetest smile ever.  He loves being rocked which is good because I could sit and rock him all day long.  He still loves his paci, but has a hard time keeping it in his mouth sometimes.  He has been sleeping pretty good in his pack n play at night, but since he has been sick he has been sleeping with us.  I have been worried about his breathing since his nose has been so stuffy.  He is starting to stay awake more during the day too.  Starting tomorrow, he will be staying with my sister during the day because I have to go back to work:(  I am a little anxious, but I know that Aunt Jenn Jenn will take great care of him.  Plus, she can send me pictures of him daily which I will look forward to everyday.  My little man is growing so fast, and I am trying to enjoy every second of every stage that he goes through.  I love every piece of him and truly can not get enough!

Getting Out

I am slowly but surely feeling more comfortable with getting out of the house. I have to time my outings just right since I am breastfeeding. I can only go 4 or 5 hours without pumping or feeding, and I am not comfortable with feeding in public. Of course, I take a bottle for Colin!
Today, we went and had lunch with Daddy. It was great getting to see Eli in the middle of the day, and Colin got to snuggle with him for a bit. I just love watching these two together!

It also gave me a little bit of practice getting out with Colin by myself. We stopped by one of my favorite shops in Hoover to do a little shopping after lunch. Colin did great and slept the whole time:).

5 Weeks

My baby boy is 5 weeks old today.  I can not believe it has already been 5 weeks, and I can not believe how fast he is growing.  Last night, Eli and I decided to give Colin some tummy time.  He did a great job lifting his head up.  He also showed us a little more.  Check it out!

Eli laid him on his tummy.  Colin lifted his head and came down in the position where his arms were both on one side of his body.  Then, he started kicking his leg and getting a little mad at us.  Then, all of a sudden he flipped to his back:)  Of course, the first time I did not have my camera, but he did it again!  I had my camera ready for the second one:)  He is growing too fast!!

1 Month

                                       Colin is a month old!

He weighs 10 lbs 2 oz and is 21 inches long.  He is in 0-3 month clothes and is still in newborn diapers.  We will probably be moving him to size 1 diapers very soon.  He is eating 4 oz every 3-4 hours.  I am still breastfeeding, but sometimes I pump to give Daddy a chance to feed him too.

He still sleeps a good portion of the day, but he will sometimes stay awake up to an hour at a time. He loves being cuddled, and he also likes being rocked. He loves his paci and will try to suck on his fingers too.  He sleeps in his pack n play beside our bed at night, but he loves snuggling in bed with Mommy and Daddy after his early morning feeding.

Happy 1 month Colin!  Mommy and Daddy love you so much:)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I am loving spending time with my little man!  He is such a little snuggle bug:)  It is really hard to not sit around and hold him all day.

I am loving my husband.  Colin and I are so lucky to have him.  Watching him with Colin melts my heart:)  God has blessed me with such an awesome little family.

I am loving these pictures of my little brother with Blakely!  She has been sick here lately with ear infections and not sleeping well. Justin decided he would console her, and it looks like he did a great job.  As you can see, he is also a great mutli-tasker!

I am loving this little Columbia jacket that we are going to order for Colin.  I will be perfect jacket for the cold months.  It is not too bulky, but will be nice and warm.  Colin will not need anything too thick since he will be wrapped in blankets too whenever he is outside!

Happy Wednesday friends!

Miscellany Monday

                                        Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
Write Random and Link Up!

{1}  School started back today for teachers, and I can not tell you how wierd it feels to not be there.  Not that I am complaining or anything :)  I am so thankful that I have another 7 weeks at home with my little man.  I am going to make sure I make the most of my tie at home with Colin.  I am going to try my best not to worry about my kiddos at school.  I know that they are in good hands!

{2}  We got the disk of Colin's newborn pictures in the mail Saturday.  I love them!  I can not wait to share them with everyone, but I am going to wait until after we send out Colin's birth annoucements.  I will give you a sneak peek though!

{3}   Colin and I went on our first outing today without Daddy.  I didn't like him riding in the back by himself :(  Of course, he didn't mind at all.... he sleep the whole time.  It was nice to get out of the house even though it was only for a little while.

{4} Bachelor Pad starts tonight!  I hate drama in my own life, but I love watching it on Reality TV!  I am looking forward to watching Vienna, Jake, and Casey (the guy who will "guard and protect your heart").

2 Weeks

My baby boy is 2 weeks old today.  He is a happy and healthy baby.  He eat every 3 hours during the day (sometimes I have to wake him up to eat) and 4 hours at night.  He sleeps in his pack n play at night and loves hanging out in his boppy newborn lounger during the day.

He is wearing newborn clothes and diapers, but a few of his sleepers are getting too small.  He still has his umbilical cord, but I think it will probably fall off in the next few days.  He loves when his daddy gives him a bath, and mommy and daddy both love snuggling him after bathtime.

He loves his paci and unfortunately his fingers.  He hardly ever cries, but he grunts a lot.

He has changed so much in 2 weeks, but he still looks just like his daddy!  Happy 2 Weeks Colin...Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

{1}  I love being a mommy!  Colin is such a blessing and I thank God for giving him to me everyday:)  I love watching Eli with Colin too.  He is such an amazing Daddy already!  He changes diapers, bathes him, snuggles him, talks to him, and everything else.  He is so good at all of these things....It makes me wonder if he was sneaking around and taking classes or something:)

{2}  Eli went back to work today, and we sure do miss him! This is the first day that we have not been together since Colin arrived.  I am sure that when he gets home tonight, he will steal Colin for snuggle time for the rest of the night:)  He has already told me that he doesn't care who is here when he gets home in the afternoons Colin is all HIS!  I guess I have to get all me snuggle time in during the day:)

{3}  My little sister will be home in 5 hours!!!!  I can not wait to sit and hang out with her today, and I can not wait for her to meet her new nephew.  She is staying a our house for a week, and I am so excited to catch up.  Drive careful and hurry home:)

{4}  Colin is successfully sleeping in his pack n play.  This was my goal from the beginning, but the first 3 nights he sleep with us.  He is now sleeping in his pack n play and wakes up every 4 hours to eat.  His sleep is pretty precious to him:)  This also makes for a happy well rested Mommy!  I am sure that I may start taking naps with im during the day, but I haven't really felt like I needed too yet.

Picture Perfect

I know everyone remembers the traditional hospital pictures that everyone has of themselves or their children.  The ones with the hospital blanket in the hospital baby bed with the baby wearing a white shirt or onsies.  Well, things have changed.  Atleast, they have at St. Vincents Hospital.  They have a photography company that goes room to room taking newborn pictures for parents called Our365.  The lady did all of the pics at the foot of my hospital bed.  She let me change him into his Alabama outfit and used blankets that I brought to the hospital.  The pictures turned out great! Eli's sweet parents bought the CD for us with all the pictures on it.  We also got a free 10 x 13 of one picture.  Here are a few of the pictures!

We also went yesterday afternoon to have Colin's newborn pictures takenby Jennifer Branham.  He did really well even though we were moving him around and changing him constantly.  He was awake for some pictures and asleep for some which is good because I wanted some of both.  She also took a few family shots!  She has already posted a sneak peek up for us, so I thought I would share!  I can't wait to see the rest of them.
