Baby Shower Part 1

This past weekend 3 of by best friends and 3 of my sisters hosted a baby shower for Colin! It was an amazing shower and all of the hostesses went above and beyond to make it perfect. In this post, I will give you the details of the shower, and I will have a part 2 tomorrow showing you all of the fun goodies that Colin got from his friends and family:)

The theme of the shower was centered around Colin's room. All of the decorations, invitations, and thank you cards match his room perfectly. Candace also made some the decorations which will be used in his room as decor! The light with the C and a blue ribbon wrapped around it.

They had Edgar's make a delicious cake and a friend of Candace's made cookies with Colins initials on them as party favors.
                      
                       
They also had Advice cards and Wishes for Colin cards made for everyone to fill out.  I will tell you that I absolutely loved reading these after the shower.  I am going to get an album/ scrapbook to put them in to keep.
                      
                      
                      
They also put baby pics up of Eli and myself along with the sonogram picture of Colin.  We are all very curious to know who he is going to look like.  I hope he has dark hair, blue eyes, and long eyelashes.  We all know he will have some perfecly plump lips:)
                      
The shower was wonderful, and we are very lucky to have such a loving group of people in our lives.  Colin already has so many people that love him so much!  Thank you again to all the shower hostesses.  You guys are definitely the best!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

                     

I am loving the time I got to spend this past week with my little sister.  We had a lot of fun catching up and just hanging out.  I am sad that she is leaving today, but she will be back before we know it.  We love you Steph and hope you have safe travels back to Harbor Island!
                                

I am loving how much fun I had at Colin's baby shower this past weekend!  I will post more about it on Thursday.  I would like to give a special thanks to all of my wonderful family and friends that made it so special and a special thanks to all of the hostesses.  The shower was amazing:)
                       

I am loving that this weekend is the 4th of July.  We will be spending the weekend at the lake.  We will also be celebrating my neice and nephew's birthday!  Yay for spending time with family and relaxing.

34 Weeks

How far along? 34 Weeks and 1 days


Sleep: Sleep is still better good other than the bathroom breaks. 

Movement: Still moving a lot.  The nurse was trying to check his heart rate today, and Colin was moving all around and kicking her.  It started at 140 then 142 and the nurse decided she was making him mad so she stopped:) 

Food cravings: I really would love to have some Japanese.  My sisters went out to dinner last night, so Steph could get her Japanese fix before heading back to the Bahamas.  I was pretty jealous!

Gender: Precious Baby Boy- Colin

Labor Signs: A few Braxton Hicks everyday. A few backaches here and there, and I also have been having some sharp menstural type cramps. 

Belly button in or out? It is in sometimes and out sometimes.  I guess it depends on where he is in my belly.

What I miss: Being able to get up and down out of bed easily.  Those late night trips to the bathroom are hard when I have to try to roll out of bed:)

What I am looking forward to: My next doctor's appointment and finishing up Colin's room!

Doctor Update:  I went to the doctor today.  Everything is good.  My belly is measuring 34 weeks and his heart rate was around 140.  The doctor said that he is already really low.  She also said that I will now be making weekly appointments.  Yay!!!  I can't believe how close we are getting.

33 Weeks

How far along? 33 Weeks and 3 days

Sleep: Sleep is a little better this week.  I have actually slept in a few days this week:) 

Movement:  ALL THE TIME:)  Eli gets upset because when he trie to feel him, he will stop.  Eli will lay at night with his hand on by belly to feel him, and he says that after I fall asleep Colin is still just a kicking. 

Food cravings:  Everything that I can't have.  Japanese, Italian, Mexican, Chik-Fil-A! 

Gender: Boy

Labor Signs: A few Braxton Hicks everyday.  I have had some crampy feelings and back aches, but that could just be because of my expanding belly.

Belly button in or out? I think it is half in half out. 

What I miss: My daily Dr. Pepper, Coke, or Mt Dew

What I am looking forward to: Colin's Baby Shower on June 25th and spending the week with my sister!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

                 
I am loving that my sister's flight should be landing right now in Atlanta.  We will have 7 days to hang out and catch up with her.  I am very excited that she will be here for my shower, and she will get to see all of Colin's goodies.

                

I am loving that Colin's shower is this Saturday, and I will get to see a lot of family and close friends.  Some of the people coming I have not seen in close to a year!!

                         

I am loving this rainy stormy weather.  It is just enough rain to enjoy!  It also makes for great napping:)

I am loving that the last piece of Colin's furniture arrived yesterday.  It was suppose to be on backorder til July 7th, but it got here early...Yay!  Eli put it together last night, and it looks great.  I will post pictures once it is complete:)

Miscellany Monday

                                    

{1} We had a busy, but fun weekend. Friday night we got to babysit Tate so that Candace and Jonathan could have a date night! He was a little angel, of course. He has such a sweet smile don't you think?
                        
 
{2}  We also got a glimpse of how Malik will react to having a baby around.  Eli was in the floor playing with Tate, and Malik was so jealous.  It was pretty funny:)  He was doing anything and everything to get Eli's attention including this!
                

{3}  We spent Saturday downtown on Morris Avenue having maternity pictures done by Jennifer Branham!  We had a lot of fun and can't wait to see how they turn out.  Hopefully, she will have a sneak peak up on facebook soon, and I will share with you guys!

{4}  We spent Sunday out at the lake and pool.  We had a nice, relaxing day full of family and fun.  We had not seen my brother and his family in about 5 weeks (this is very uncommon for our family because we are super close).  They were there along with my sister and her family, Blaine- my stepsister from North Carolina, and my cousin Lexie!

{5} My little sister is coming home Wednesday:)  I am so excited because we have not seen her since Easter weekend.  She will also be in town for my baby shower this weekend.  I can't wait for her to see my belly and feel Colin kick!!

{6} Jackie, my bestie from Tuscaloosa, is coming to town tomorrow.  She is going to spend the night with me tomorrow night and hep me organize Colin's room on Wednesday.  I can't wait to hang out with her too!!

Baby Shower Fun

This past weekend, Eli's sister, aunt and mother threw us a baby shower for our family and friends in Decatur.  We had a wonderful time hanging out with friends and family, and Colin got a lot of goodies:) Here is a picture of the hostesses and Cade monster (his nickname his Uncle "E-I" gave him).

                    

Eli's parents gave us our Pack-N-Play and our Travel System. We had fun putting these together Sunday night. The pack-n-play can be tricky, but we will get the hang of it!
                               
                    

Memaw gave us a handknitted blanket, hat, and stuffed animals.  So precious and will be a keepsake for sure!
                              

Granny and Aunt Sue gave us a houndstooth picnic basket with TONS of Bama gear for Colin.  Granny also gave him a baby Bible and a letter for him to open on HIS wedding day.
                    
                     

Carrie gave us our matress for the crib and a huge plastic tub of goodies including diapers, wipes, baby utensils, bowls, bath gear, and more. She also told us about another gift that she is still in the process of making. She is making a photo book on Shutterfly of Granddaddy (Colin's middle name is Ollie after his Great Granddaddy). I am very excited and can't wait to see the final product!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

                 

I'm loving our homemade orange juice popsicles that I made.  They are so yummy and are better than my no sugar added popsicles I have been eating:)
                           

I love getting packages in the mail.  When they are gifts for my baby boy, I enjoy them even more.  We received 2 gifts in the mail from Eli's aunt and uncle in Atlanta.  Thanks so much Aunt Lori and Uncle Mike!
                           

I'm loving that my pool is almost ready for me to use:)  Eli bought it for me a few weeks ago, and we have finally gotten a chance to put it up.  It will be perfect for me to lay on my float and relax in to beat the heat!
                            

I'm loving that Candace and sweet baby Tate are coming over this afternoon.  Candace and I are having a crafting day.  I want to make a picture to hang in his room over his dresser.  I will post pics when I am done:)

32 Weeks

How far along? 32 Weeks and 1 day

Sleep: Sleep is still ok.  It could be better, but it could be much worse.

Movement: He is moving all the time.  He shakes my whole belly when he moves, and I love it.  I do not like whne he balls up in my ribs though.  It does not feel good at all.  He had the hiccups for the first time Saturday morning.  I loved it.  I woke Eli up, so he could feel him too.

Food cravings:  I have all kinds of cravings for things that I can't have. Dr. Pepper, Japenese, Italian, Milos Sweet Tea, Spicy Chicken sandwich from Wendy's.  I am making a list, so I can indulge once Colin gets here.

Gender: Boy

Labor Signs: A few Braxton Hicks everyday.

Belly button in or out? It is even now with my belly. 

What I miss: My sister!  I wish she was here to feel him kick and help get his nursery together. 

What I am looking forward to: Colin's Baby Shower on June 25th:)

Miscellany Monday

                                   
{1}  I had a wonderful baby shower up in Decatur this weekend!  We got a lot of great stuff and had lots of fun with the family visiting and hanging around the pool.  Here is a sneak peek! 
                 
{2}  Colin has been kicking me like crazy lately.  I think is getting a little crowded in my belly:)  He had the hiccups for the first time Saturday morning at 5:20..... I didn't want to go back to sleep!  It was great.  I woke Eli up so he could feel too!  Here is a video of him kicking just for Steph.  We  love you and miss you very much!
                  
{3}  My step sister who lives in North Carolina is coming down this weekend to spend several weeks.  I am excited to see her and spend some time hanging out!  She has not seen me in a few months, so she will get to see how much my belly has grown:)

31 Weeks

How far along? 31 Weeks and 1 day


Sleep: Sleep is ok.  I am really tired of sleeping on my side, but I do not have too much longer.  I have been sleeping with a pillow between my legs and a little pillow under my belly.  I get really hot at night and end up sleeping without any covers (I am sure having all the pillows doesn't help with the heat either).

Movement: He is still up in my ribs on the right side which is really uncomfortable, but it's not all the time.  He will move a lot during the middle of the day and at night when I am going to bed.  Eli said that the other night after I fell asleep, he shook my whole belly.  I really like to sit and just watch my belly move:)

Food cravings: I am loving my whole wheat bagel thins and strawberry cream cheese for breakfast.  I also love Blue Bell no sugar added ice cream bars:)  These are 2 things that I could eat everyday!

Gender: Boy

What I miss: I'm still missing Dr. Pepper!

What I am looking forward to: Colin's Baby Showers! June 11th and June 25th:)

Doctor Update: I have been pricking my finger (actually my lower palm) 4 times a day and my blood sugar has been good so far.  I go back to the doctor next Tuesday.

Weekend Fun

This past weekend we went out to my mom's to celebrate Mike's 40th Birthday! We had a lot of fun with family and friends. It was soooo hot, so I barely left the pool.
